We have chosen to be a non-profit social enterprise. This means that we use ALL our profits to participate in initiatives aimed at improving our world, for us and for future generations.

We care about the protection of the environment. We buy biodegradable shampoos and soaps in recycled and recyclable containers with EU Ecolabel certificates. Unused soap is collected and reprocessed in collaboration with Clean The World Foundation and then used for humanitarian purposes.
The RomeHello makes ethical choices that also help support a sustainable economy.
We are carrying out a small revolution in our way of doing business, which we hope will become ever greater. The RomeHello is, in fact, the only hostel in the city that is a non-profit social enterprise. Our management is ethical and sustainable and supports humanitarian and environmental initiatives.
All the profits from our activities support non-profit organisations and NGOs, finance projects dedicated to the most vulnerable people, and safeguard the planet.
Sulla Strada (meaning “On The Road”) is a nonprofit volunteer organization committed to defending and promoting children’s rights globally. Their primary focus is on La Granadilla, Guatemala, where they provide critical support to Mayan children living in severe poverty. These children often endure isolation and are compelled to engage in early labour, including tasks involving handling gunpowder for fireworks production.
The RomeHello has been a steadfast supporter of Sulla Strada’s mission over the years. They have hosted annual fundraising events, volunteered for projects in Guatemala, and actively participated in the organization’s initiatives. Most notably, The RomeHello has facilitated the collection of substantial donations, which have funded various projects, including the recent construction of a new kindergarten for the Abuelita Amelia Pavoni school.
GODERICH PAEDIATRIC CENTRE – SIERRA LEONE
We support the Emergency programme for the construction and management of health facilities. One of these is the Goderich Paediatric Centre, which offers basic health care to children who are mainly affected by malaria, gastrointestinal infections and respiratory tract infections. We donate the euros collected from reservations and spontaneous donations to the centre.
SURGICAL CENTRE FOR WAR VICTIMS IN LASHKAR-GAH – AFGHANISTAN
The Surgical Centre is the only hospital in the entire region of Afghanistan that offers free, high-quality medical assistance to war victims. It is a facility within the Emergency programme for the construction and management of health facilities. We donate the euros collected from reservations and spontaneous donations to the centre.
CLEAN THE WORLD FOUNDATION
We support the Clean The World Foundation, whose mission is to protect the environment and guide the global hygiene revolution through recycling soap and distributing it in the world’s poorest countries. Clean the World collects soap and shampoo discarded by the hospitality industry, which generates environmental waste, and recycles, sanitises and distributes it in countries where the lack of hygiene represents a risk to people’s health. In addition to sending all the soap leftover from our business, we donate the euros collected from reservations and spontaneous donations to the organisation.
