FAQs

Think we can give you the perfect stay in Rome, but you still have some questions?
Don’t worry! You can find all of our FAQs on this page

If you’re still not sure of something, feel free to get in touch with us! You can contact us by email at info@theromehello.com or by sending us a message on Facebook. Hopefully, see you soon!

How can I cancel my booking?

If you’ve booked a refundable rate then you can cancel up to 24 hours before arrival. If you’ve booked a non-refundable rate (our cheapest rates) then it’s not possible to cancel your booking.

Do you take walk-ins?
If you arrive at our front door without a booking, then we’ll do our very best to find you a bed or a room. However, we can’t guarantee that there will be room for you. The best way to guarantee a booking is to do so by reserving a bed or a room by booking online here.

How do I make a group booking?
We have a dedicated staff member who will take care of all your group needs if you are travelling as a group of ten or more people. Just get in touch at groups@theromehello.com.
Please note that when booking 5 beds or 3 rooms, different policies and additional supplements may apply. We will send you a special group reservation contract which has some different terms and conditions to our standard policy (deposits, changes of reservation).

Will my friends and I all be in the same room?
We do our very best to make sure you and your friends are all placed in the same room. However, we also have private doubles, twins, triples, and quads that you can book per room if you want to be certain that you will be in the same room as your friends.

Can I bring children under 18 years of age?
You can indeed! We welcome teenagers under 18 years of age only in private rooms and only if accompanied by parents. Teenagers under the age of 18 cannot be booked in shared dorms.

What’s the difference between a twin room and a double room?
A twin room is a room that has one bunk bed and a double room is a room that has one double bed.

Are the dormitories mixed?
Dorms are mixed unless you book a ‘Girls Only’ dorm. We don’t have boys only dorms

What time is check in and check out?
Check-in is from 2:00 pm. Our reception is open 24/7, so if you’re arriving late, just get in touch so we know you’re coming! If you arrive before 2:00 pm, feel free to pop your bag in the luggage room and get out and explore the city! If you’re leaving any valuables, make sure to rent a secure locker. You’ll need to be packed up and out of your room by 11 am on the day that you’re leaving.

Is the guest kitchen open 24 hours?
Want to make a budget-friendly lunch or dinner? The self-catering kitchen is open 24 hours.

Do you provide bed linen and towels? A pillow, duvet and fresh bedding await you! Towels are provided in private rooms but you’ll need to bring your own or rent one from Reception for a small fee if you’re staying in a dorm.

Are there hairdryers in the rooms?
Yes, there are hairdryers in all rooms.

Where can I leave my things?
If you arrive before 2.00pm, you can pop your bag in the lockers ( free of charge ) and head out and explore the city! You can do the same on the day you check out if you’re not leaving the city until later on.

Can I bring alcohol into the hostel?
You are more than welcome to bring wine into the common areas of the hostel to share with new friends, just please don’t take alcohol into the shared rooms. If you’d like to party, feel free to head to our bar: The Barrel!

Is the hostel safe and secure?
You bet! Reception is open 24/7, so there’s always someone available if you have any issues or need a question answered. Access to all the hostels is by key code only – so keep it safe! Our staff are on duty every night and CCTV cameras are up and running in all communal areas and corridors.

Are we pet-friendly?
To be honest, we would love to meet your furry friends! But unfortunately, we’ve found that bringing pets into our hostel can make quite a commotion. For that reason, we ask that you leave your dogs, cats, and any other domesticated (or wild) friends at home. But feel free to bring us pictures!

Do we charge city tax?
No, we don’t charge city tax.

Is breakfast included?
We serve a luxurious breakfast buffet every morning that provides a selection of hot eggs, bacon, and sausages, as well as fresh fruit drinks, cold cuts of meat and cheese, and cereals. The breakfast isn’t included in the price of your bed nor private room, but you may include it while making the reservation and it will cost you 1 Euro less then if you book it afterward at the Hostel!
